This sewing tutorial walks you through the method I LOVE as it helps you avoid the dreaded dent.

Believe me, I have tried so many different methods to sew up my zipper pouches but most of the methods end up pulling down the corners and making the lining pucker inside as it is pulled towards those corners.
So, with this zipper pouch tutorial you can avoid all that and be super proud of the pouch you create.
Let’s get started!
FREE VIDEO TUTORIAL:

The entire process is shown in a step by step video tutorial which you can watch HERE.
VERSION 1, THE ZIPPER POUCH:

This pouch is the perfect place to start as a beginner sewer. It will walk you through the process of a zipper so you can do it even if it is your first time.
PRINTABLE PATTERN:
Version 1 (a regular zipper pouch) can be sewn just by following the video tutorial but version 2 (a crescent pouch) will need the printable pattern which you can find in my shop.
VERSION 2, THE CRESCENT POUCH:

But if you want to expand your confidence a little bit more, a beginner could just as easily sew up version two.

This is the version two crescent pouch that any beginner can easily sew following the video tutorial and using the matching pdf pattern.
I hope you enjoy this fun beginner sewing project and get lots of use out of it. I love creating these fun and simple projects for you to enjoy. Check out my store or youtube channel for even more!
Happy Sewing, XOXO, Tamara

Hi Tamara, greetings from Sydney Australia.
I wonder if you could help me? I have purchased your zipper pouch pattern and have loved making version 1.
I am just about to make version 2 and notice that you do not specify the size of zipper for version 2 – which is helpfully in the instructions for version 1.
Can you please tell me the zipper size for the three version 2 pouches? Or have I missed it somewhere in the instructions?
thank you
Jennie
Hello Jennifer, I am so sorry I am not seeing this until now! I don’t check on my blog comments as much as I do my email. As far as the length of the zippers, I recommend using zipper tape, this way you can cut it two inches longer than the curve of the pouch. I do tell you more details within the video tutorial. I hope this helps. It is harder to buy a long enough zipper for this project. https://youtu.be/ylOfU-PPfR8
