My youngest son LOVES all things super hero and somehow this transferred into me! It must have something to do with the joys imagination can bring.
I recently saw a show-home and found this super hero room. It was pretty basic but my boys LOVED it so I figured it would be a good theme to use for Rome’s bedroom!

The below Superhero bedroom is what happened after I chose this super hero room theme and RAN with it!
I dare say it is better then the above inspiration!
Super Hero Bedroom Tour:
First I needed some inspiration to pull colors from. Home Sense to the rescue! I loved these pieces of canvas art and everything seemed to fall into place after that.
Not wanting to paint ALL the walls I came up with this Superhero BOOM Idea.
For the full tutorial on how we made this Super Hero BOOM wall CLICK HERE.
At first we had bunk beds in this room but eventually we took the top bunk off which left the opposite wall wide open for more superhero decor!
The book shelf is made from an old pallet my husband got from work. I found studs in the wall and anchored it with some screws.
We chose to buy this Marvel Captain America Shield to use as a nightlight. It looks so cool “cracked” into the wall and was simple to install.
I attempted to decorate with the many superhero toys my boys have but of course this won’t last. These adorable toys are called Tsum Tsum Superheros. Of all the superhero toys my son has THESE are his all time favorites.
The Super Hero Art was made using an Ikea frame.
I took out the matting as it had yellowed, painted some random triangles onto the backing and used scrapbook corners to add the printables. The free printables I found HERE.
We already had blackout blinds installed so curtains weren’t nessesary. However I thought sewing a simple valance would be a fun way to move the theme through the room.
Find a cool collection of Super Hero Fabric HERE or just buy this pre made valance: Window Curtain Valance made from Marvel Comics Super Hero Cotton Fabric.
I did mention this super hero room was done mostly with DIY items right?!? I am sure you figured this out by now 🙂 Below is a batman shelf I made with a Scroll Saw. It could easily be made with a Jig Saw too!
Batman Shelf Tutorial HERE.
So what do you think? I am sure I will be adding more super hero items as time moves along. I make rag quilts in the winter months and may have to come up with a superhero version to replace the adorable turtle you see on the bed at the moment.
All in good time….
I would love to hear from you in the comment section. Will you try any of these ideas out? I sure hope so!
